RADWARE Web Server Director (WSD)
is specially designed for networks,
to redistribute heavy traffic
to the server, in order to accommodate
the incoming requests in the quickest
and most efficient manner.
The WSD sits in front of the servers,
redirecting traffic to the most
available server. A number of
Virtual IPs (VIP) can be assigned
to the WSD, which are forwarded
with high throughput and low latency
to any one of the servers at the
site. This is based on a sophisticated
load-balancing algorithm, which
takes into account the processing
power of the servers.
WSD also assures high availability
of your network, by immediately
identifying a faulty server or
application. The WSD then ceases
all traffic to the faulty server
and redistributes the traffic
to the healthy servers, with no
interruption of service and in
a totally transparent manner for
the users. This provides a fault
tolerant network and continuous
data access at all times. Two
WSD working in an Active-Active
configuration, constantly monitoring
each unit via the network, provide
a completely fault tolerant system,
with no single point of failure.
