New
technology provides network
operators increased security,
enhanced performance and ease
of use

Minneapolis,
MN, September 3, 2002
Allot Communications, a premier
provider of policy-based networking
solutions, today announced two
new models in its acclaimed
NetEnforcer® line of bandwidth
management devices. The new
NetEnforcer AC-302 and AC-402
models were designed to address
network operators' increasing
need for tighter network security
and enhanced operational performance.
In addition, Allot's newest
NetEnforcer models are designed
to ensure that network operators
- in both the enterprise and
public network segments - realize
lower operating costs as well
as ease of installation and
maintenance.
The AC-302, which handles network
traffic at up to 45 Mbps and
the AC-402, at up to 100 Mbps,
are designed with an additional
Ethernet port. This feature
provides access to the NetEnforcer
unit via a sub-network used
only for management traffic.
As a result, service providers
and enterprises can physically
isolate network users from the
management functions of the
NetEnforcer, ensuring enhanced
network security and performance.
The new NetEnforcer AC-302 and
AC-402 models also feature newly
designed front panels that include
an easy to read LCD panel that
indicates traffic usage; a key
pad that enables direct configuration
of the unit without the need
for a console connection; and
the ability to start, reboot
and shutdown from the front
panel.
"Installing the NetEnforcer
AC-402 is very easy," said
Amos Rosenboim, network manager
at Internet Gold (NASDAQ: IGLD),
a major Israeli ISP. "The
NetEnforcer's new display enables
us to watch network utilization
just by glancing at the unit,"
he said. "We have also
used the NetEnforcer real time
monitoring capability to analyze
our subscribers' traffic patterns,
and discovered that KaZaA and
Audiogalaxy are the most popular
applications. These P2P protocols
can consume as much as 33% of
our dial-up users' bandwidth,
and up to 50% of our broadband
users' bandwidth," Rosenboim
added.
According to Udi Levin, Allot's
Director of Product Management,
"Allot has developed its
new NetEnforcer models in response
to our customers' requirements
for enhanced network security,
as well as to simplify network
operation. Allot offers a complete
solution for policy-based networking
that reduces the cost of ownership
for our customers."
The new NetEnforcer AC-302 and
AC-402 models will be generally
available in mid-September 2002,
with pricing starting at $12,000.
