Multiservice
Access and Switch Products
Multiservice
and Multiprotocol

Memotec Communications CX seriers
Access Switch provides delivers
an end-to-end multiservice solution
for central site, regional and
remote office for enterprise
and carrier networks with multiprotocol
and multiservice access to networks.
The CX serier offers single-platform
consolidation of LAN, legacy
and voice at an affordable price.
It supports a broad range of
services including voice and
data as well as a wide range
of protocols from user devices
that include; legacy SNA/SDLC,
Async, 3270 Bisync, HDLC and
X.25, Frame Relay, Token Ring
and Ethernet. Memotec's CX series
is the ideal solution for today's
convergence needs while providing
performance and throughput to
enterprise and carrier network
extending newer applications.
Unparalleled
Flexibility

Memotec's high performance CX
series is the industry's first
multiservice platform that integrates
data, voice and video over any
of today's WAN technologies
(Frame Relay, IP, ISDN, X.25)
and voice technologies to a
T1/E1 ATM service for both public
and private network environments.
Unmatched
Adaptability/Scalability

Featuring a state of the art
processor, the CX series delivers
superior performance and throughput
for today's growing networking
applications. It offers enhanced
scalability with an modular
slot chassis for a wide choice
of interface modules which support
a multitude of applications.
By simply inserting the corresponding
module, the CX series can be
easily configured to support
various applications, including
- LAN applications; legacy protocols
from various serial modules,
and voice compression applications
from analog and digital voice
modules. A range of optional
56/64Kbps, T1/E1 CSU/DSU, ISDN
(PRI, BRI) and V.34 dial-back-up
modules. Its ease of upgradeability
allows enterprise networks to
easily adapt the CX series Access
Switch to new applications over
a choice of ATM, Frame Relay,
IP and ISDN services.
Reduced
Cost of Ownership- Voice over
Packet

Enterprise networks can reduce
recurring network costs by employing
the CX series to integrate voice
communications over an existing
data infrastructure. With support
for VoATM, VoFR and VoIP, the
CX series offers enterprise
networks a choice of technologies
that deliver networking, cost
and performance benefits. Memotec's
unique voice architecture enables
true any to any gatewaying of
packet or PSTN voice services.
The CX series reduces, or even
eliminates, long distance toll
charges when voice calls are
piggybacked onto an existing
data network.
Easy
to Manage

The CX series is configured
using Memotec's new CXTool,
a Windows-based configuration
tool specifically designed for
Memotec's CX family of products.
CXTool makes configuration easy.
Simply point, click and fill
in the information. Monitoring
is performed using Memotec's
CXView, a monitoring tool based
on a client/server architecture
that allows network managers
to view status information on
their Memotec-based network
components from any location,
using a standard HTTP browser.
The CXView can be easily integrated
within an NMS, such as HP OpenView.
