The ATLAS
multimedia platform is a broadband
routing solution for corporate
branch office communications.
Its modularity permits flexible
interface configuration, thus
enabling an easy and economic
migration path to the different
communications networks available
in the market. The ATLAS platform
also supports the latest IP
Virtual Private Network hardware
and software techniques, in
order to guarantee a secure
transmission of sensitive and
critical corporate information.
It can also be equipped with
voice over data capabilities,
transforming the ATLAS into
a powerful multimedia access
device, providing complete service
for the typical communications
need of corporate remote offices.
A standards based implementation
of all the protocols supported
in ATLAS assures seamless interoperability
with all major router vendors.
A powerful management system
minimizes operation and maintenance
costs for medium and large sized
networks.
Interface
Flexibility

By easily adding plug-in daughter
boards, the ATLAS platform supports
a variety of broadband WAN interfaces
such as ADS; SDSL, E1/T1, etc.
It also supports conventional
interfaces for X.25, Frame Relay,
leased line or ISDN connection.
At the LAN side, Ethernet/Fast
Ethernet, Token Ring and 802.11
Wireless LAN are supported.
Multimedia

Both analog and digital (ISDN)
voice processing are supported,
using the most efficient audio
compression algorithms, G.723
and G.729A. Voice is then transmitted
over IP, using the latest streaming
technologies. It interoperates
with corporate audio networks,
using the H.323 protocol suite.
Routing

The ATLAS platform provides
RIP, RIP II and OSPF routing
protocols. It allows multiple
terminals to share a single
IP address, using NAT/PAT protocols,
as well as dynamic IP address
distribution with DHCP. It also
supports SNA traffic transmission
over IP networks, with BAN and
DLSw protocols.
Management

The ATLAS platform can be managed
from local or remote console
(Telnet). New configurations
and SW upgrades can be remotely
loaded using TCP and TFTP. For
professional management environments,
ATLAS is integrated in Teldages,
a powerful graphic remote management
suite, that supports database
storage and replication of remote
configurations, remote configuration
and software upgrades over groups
of devices, remote status monitoring,
alarm reception, etc.
Virtual
Private Networks

For corporate communications,
the ATLAS software includes
Virtual Private Network support,
based on IPSec techniques. Software
and hardware encryption (RC4,
DES and 3DES), and powerful
prioritization algorithms, assure
quality and confidentiality
for mission critical data. Compression
algorithms optimize bandwidth
requirements, thus reducing
communications costs.
